Psalm 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat– for he grants sleep to those he loves.
This rings true for every nation, city and home today. Mighty empires have risen and stood, seemingly immortal. Yet, they have all but fallen. The key reason behind that was forgetting the LORD. They watched in VAIN! They labored in VAIN! Let that not be our testimony as intercessors. Let that not be our testimony as men and women of faith.
The first mention that most of us would have had of Afghanistan is likely linked to 9/11. After that, we would have seen armies from across the world descending into the region.
What often goes unnoticed in these things are the individuals. There are millions of civilians whose lives were affected by events at this time.
Some lives have been irreparably damaged. Relationships have been severed, families have been torn apart.
Jesus was always found to stand with the least among us.

Prayer Points
Ezekiel 22:30
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
You are standing up today to say, “Here I am, Lord!”
- Pray for the country’s leadership. We are praying that the Lord would move in them and impact the nation and region through them.
- Pray for their families. Being in such a position places a strain on homes and relationship, we are praying for God’s hand to be seen in this area.
- Pray for reconciliation. The presence of forces within the region raised anomysity between groups. We have a ministry of reconciliation.
- Pray for peace. Lord knows they have seen enough chaos and suffered enough pain.
- Pray for renewal. That the Lord will bring restoration to the region.
- Pray for salvation. That the gospel will impact people in the region.
Thank you for standing in the gap for Afghanistan. It is never in vain! If you have additional prayer points that we should add here, please leave them in the comment section.
