He has held this position since 2016; before that, he was a Pennsylvania House of Representatives member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casey.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bob Casey Jr<\/a>. and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pat_Toomey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pat Toomey<\/a> are two U.S. Senators representing Pennsylvania. Bob Casey Jr. is a Democrat serving in the Senate since 2007, while Pat Toomey is a Republican who has served since 2011. However, the health status of 12.5% of Pennsylvania&#8217;s adults is considered fair or poor. Additionally, the violent crime rate in Pennsylvania was 301.3 per 100,000 inhabitants, also lower than the national average of 368.9 per 100,000 inhabitants [<a href=\"https:\/\/ucr.fbi.gov\/crime-in-the-u.s\/2020\/crime-in-the-u.s.-2020\/tables\/table-6\/table-6-state-cuts\/pennsylvania.xls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2<\/a>]. However, Philadelphia had a higher crime rate in 2020, with an overall crime rate of 4,561 per 100,000 inhabitants and a violent crime rate of 633.6 per 100,000 inhabitants [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.neighborhoodscout.com\/pa\/philadelphia\/crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3<\/a>].
