She assumed office on December 2, 2019, and was re-elected in 2022. Mayor Baldwin strongly advocates for community engagement and economic development [<a href=\"https:\/\/wraltechwire.com\/2021\/01\/04\/raleigh-mayor-tax-grant-plan-can-increase-minority-community-role-in-downtown-south\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6<\/a>].
