Depression can be a taboo in Christian circles. Bible verses for depression are important. A friend of mine struggled with an eating disorder for a long time. The sad part is that she found little to no support from within the body of Christ. Depression is similar. It is a subject that has been rendered a taboo within the church. This makes it difficult to bring it up.
Those who suffer from it suffer in silence. If you have read our post on praying for pastors you will know that many pastors and church leaders struggle with these things. It is not easy to see the worst of human conditions and support everyone daily. Yet it is seldom addressed by Christians. This is a driving factor in suicide rates. A sense of hopelessness takes over people’s lives and drives them to the end.
Our prayer and hope in creating these bible verses for depression

Prayer
Father, you are a God of hope. You are God to the hopeless, the widows, the orphans and the depressed. We pray for those going through a season of depression, dear Lord. We ask that you would cover them divinely in their coming in and
Show them grace in all that they set out to do. Surround them with an able support system. Raise them as a testimony for others that may find themselves in the same situation, in Jesus’ name. Depression will not be the end of them. They will rise! They will soar! They will see the goodness of the Lord and the land of the living! They will know joy in its fullness. Father, make them whole. Grant them fulfilment in all they seek to do. Amen
